Our all new University Survival Course is aimed towards kids aged 13-17 who would like to learns some basic culinary skills before they’re away at college or university. This course is designed to teach kids how to cook delicious and affordable meals for themselves (and even their dorm-mates). The course runs daily from Monday to Friday from 9am until 2pm daily.
Day 1: Mise en Place – students will learn how to organize themselves in the kitchen to help cooking their recipes go more smoothly.
Day 2: Vegetables, Vegetable Storage and Preservation – students will learn all about vegetables and how to cook, store and preserve them.
Day 3: Starches – students will learn how to cook different starches like rice, potatoes and pasta.
Day 4: Poultry Cookery and Affordable Meats – students will learn how to properly and safely cook a variety of animal proteins.
Day 5: Menus and Meal Prep – students will learn how to plan out their meals for the day or even the week.
