Our 4-week Teen Chef Basic program is designed to introduce teens from 13-17 to a professional culinary environment. Your kids will explore child-friendly classes that are designed to teach them basic cooking skills and techniques that they can use to build on either at home or in our Teen Chef Advanced program.
Classes will include:
- Mise en Place 101: Organizing your kitchen, knife skills, pantry staples and more
- Meat Cookery: Cooking to color, meat cooking methods, butchery and leftover recipes.
- Poultry Cookery: Poultry cooking methods, how to deconstruct a whole chicken and leftover recipes.
- Fish Cookery: How to avoid overcooking fish, how to clean and filet a whole fish and leftover recipes..
Our Teen Chef Courses begin on the Sunday listed and run for 4 consecutive weeks. Aprons are provided.
This program is open to teen’s ages 13-17 who are thinking seriously about becoming a chef one day, are mature and will respect the challenges within a professional kitchen environment.
